Mental health professionals maintain ethical standards as it pertains to politics, religion, cultural differences, or other sensitive topics come up during a session. Your counselor or clinician is at liberty to talk about religion and spirituality when you bring the topic up within sessions. Counselors and clinicians who are certified in Trauma-Informed Spiritual Intervention have obtained additional training for safe and effective integration of mental health and faith in their practice.
