THIS IS COMMUNITY.

Flamingo Trauma Recovery Groups range from our book club community spaces to educational spaces that are centered around topics like mental wellness and spiritual intervention.

Our book clubs provide the place and space for personal growth, self-reflection, learning, and bonding. Book Clubs are public to join until they reach maximum capacity of 10 which is part of how we keep book clubs safe and small. Book Clubs feature an opportunity to travel to other parts of the world for an opportunity to retreat and be replenished.

Educational groups are public to join for seamless connection to like-minded community, to keep you updated on enrollment seasons, and support you throughout your programs.

TRAVELING FOR YOUR WELL-BEING

Having new experiences is beneficial for improving brain function and boosting your mental health. Travel has been linked to stress reduction and can alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Many psychology professionals recommend travel as a form of therapy. New sights, smells, sounds, and conversations can stimulate your senses in a refreshing way and possibly even trigger your inner muse.

GRIEF & DISCOURAGEMENT

HEARTSICK: BOOK THERAPY FOR THE DISCOURAGED

Offering readers an opportunity to heal in the privacy of a book and with the outlet of journaling, Heartsick pulls back the curtain to acknowledge the ugly truth about loss, disappointment and grief. Heartsick is a tool for discovering and facing personal trauma and generational pain while also normalizing the need for and availability of inner healing. This book offers the linchpin for discussions about mental illness within communities of faith with biblical foundations to support its approach.

I DON'T APOLOGIZE: MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS AND REDEMPTION

NEW! I Don’t Apologize is a poetic memoir that considers the compelling nature of darkness and contemplates the miraculous nature of light. The rhythmic narrative details the desperate condition and result of childhood traumas including sexual abuse, incest, and a broken home. I Don’t Apologize is a redemption story of the silenced, misunderstood, and unknown. Through various approaches to storytelling, the author leans into profound, historical truths and illustrates the power of elusive, but attainable light.
We partner with mental health advocates everywhere to start the necessary conversations around unaddressed trauma and grief. Undiagnosed mental illness is rampant in our communities, but the only way to increase awareness is to name some of our most common shared experiences.
Cultivating a safe spaces for that might be for you, if you:
  • wish to normalize conversations about mental wellness in your community
  • frequently hold conversations about trauma and healing
  • are looking to resume your personal healing journey
  • take joy in growing beside others
  • feel called to help people recover from pain and trauma
Sounds like you? Host a book club!
